The metal on this sculpt is impressively clean, barely any flash to file off before priming. Painted up, the boiler rig on its back has enough rivet detail to reward a decent wash. Exactly the kind of old-school heft I was hoping for from a first edition cast.

The metal cast is really crisp on the pistons and pipework, way nicer than the resin stuff I've been painting lately. Only gripe is the mold lines along the shoulder joint took a bit of filing to clean up.

The detail on the Steamborg's mechanical arms is fantastic, and it's great that these old First Edition sculpts are still available in metal. Only gripe is that the casting had a bit of flash along the seams I had to scrape off, but nothing a quick cleanup couldn't fix before priming.
