Discover what the Vagrant Miniatures Pack includes, how it upgrades your Vagrantsong game, and whether it's worth adding to your collection.
Quick Answer
The Vagrant Miniatures Pack replaces the core game's cardboard standees with six detailed, pre-assembled miniatures of the Vagrant crew, giving each character a permanent place aboard the Silver Ferryman.
Why Replace Standees with Miniatures?
Miniatures add a tactile, visual presence to the board that standees can't match. Each Vagrant's silhouette and personality become instantly readable during play, which helps with immersion and quick reference at a glance.
The trade-off is storage and cost. The pack adds a box to your shelf, and at USD 31.05 (down from the catalog comparison price of USD 45.00), it's an upgrade rather than a necessity. If you're happy with standees or play mostly solo, you may not need it.
How the Pack Fits Your Campaign
The miniatures are designed to be used throughout the entire campaign. You can keep the original standees safely stored in the core box while the painted or unpainted miniatures stay on the board session after session.
Because the pack includes the core crew only, it does not add new Vagrants or scenarios. For new characters, look to expansion packs like the Iconic or Scenario expansions.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How many miniatures are in the pack?
- Six pre-assembled miniatures, one for each Vagrant in the core crew: Cursebearer, Empress, and the other four starting characters.
- Do the miniatures come painted?
- No, the miniatures are unpainted. They are pre-assembled, so you can start using them immediately or paint them to match your vision.
- Can I use these miniatures with expansions?
- Yes, the miniatures represent the core Vagrants and work with any expansion that uses the same characters. They do not include new Vagrants from expansion packs. If you plan to collect expansion characters, you will need separate miniatures or standees for those.
- Is this pack necessary to play Vagrantsong?
- No, the core game includes standees that work perfectly. This pack is an optional upgrade for players who prefer miniatures over standees. Consider your budget and whether the visual upgrade matters to your group before buying.
